After two weeks of intense talks during the 26th Conference of Parties (COP26), the Glasgow Climate Pact was signed on 13 November by 197 signatory countries.

The pact stresses the urgency of enhancing ambition and action in relation to mitigation, adaptation and finance in this critical decade to address the gaps in the implementation of the 2015 Paris Agreement.

The goals of the global climate summit were to maintain the limitation of global warming to 1.5oC and a lot of the planet’s hopes were hanging on the outcome of the negotiations between countries, and the broader package of agreements.
